Slide carrier for FISH tests

Some diagnostic tests performed on microscope slides, such as Fluorescent in-situ hybridisation (FISH) assays, require a phased heating cycle as part of the assay procedure. Hook & Tucker Zenyx have announced the launch of an enhanced slide carrier option for its MultiGene thermal cycler to enable even the smallest laboratory automate this step.

The MultiGene is a high-performance, yet compact thermal cycler. With this new carrier fitted, the MultiGene can now accomodate 2 standard microscope slides and perform a wide range of heating/cooling/incubation cycles. The heating cycle is processed by an on-board controller which is programmed via a PC. Once programmed, the MultiGene can be disconnected from the PC and used stand-alone with no risk of the program being changed by an inexperienced user.
